I am a certified yoga therapist with the International Association of Yoga Therapy, a 500 Hour Kripalu Yoga Teacher and a certified personal trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
My private session work emphasizes preventive health (high blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, increasing bone density), managing mental health conditions (anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, grief and loss), reducing chronic pain (back, neck, hips, shoulders), managing neurological conditions (multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's, dementia, stroke recovery) and corrective exercise (identifying muscle imbalances & movement compensations).
My group class work includes VINYASA YOGA, thoughtfully sequenced yoga postures building up to a peak pose while moving through the five levels of being - physical, energy, mental emotional, wisdom and joy and ESSENTRICS, a dynamic workout drawing on the flowing movements of Tai Chi, strengthening theories behind ballet barre, healing principles of physiotherapy.
I also hold certifications in Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra, Hypnotherapy, NASM Nutrition Coaching, Reiki level 2, and Yoga Dance.
My yoga teaching and private session work is informed by twenty-eight years daily practice in yoga philosophy, meditation, breathwork and posture practice.
