                         Naturalist Outings

Megan's Naturalist Outings include Forest Bathing, hiking, and snow-shoeing through thousands of acres of hiking trails in Litchfield County. For ten years she instructed guests at Grace Mayflower in Naturalist Outdoor Outings in the Hidden Valley, Macricostas and Steep Rock Preservation of Washington, CT. Her passion is connecting people to nature and sharing its flora, fauna and history.

                Naturalist Hiking and Snow Shoeing 
Enjoy scenic views, meadows, woodlands, rivers and hayfileds while discussing important topic such as outdoor ethics ("leave no trace"), Wilderness First Aid and forest as medicine to name a few. Once registered for an outing, you will receive a preparation list of appropriate items and attire to keep you comfortable, dry, protected, hydrated and fueled on a Naturalist Outdoor Outing.

                    Forest Bathing (Shinrin Yoku)
Promotes health and wellness by integrating the natural outdoor world with the mindful practice of present moment hiking by engaging all teh senses. Studies have shown Forest bathing can lower blood pressure, heart rate, and stress levels as boost immunity. Deepen yourself in the present moment while embracing the mind, body, spirit and soul conncection in natrure and experience the healing effects that only a bath in nature can provide.
